We are a group of lgbtq+ affirming christians from the christian church (Disciples of christ). We offer a free community meal and food pantry on Wednesdays.
UniPlace Christian Church has had a long history entangled with the University of Illinois and grew as Champaign-Urbana also grew. Our historic church with an incredible sanctuarly has provided the C-U community an amazing space to experience God's beauty through music, service, study, and the warmth of belonging. Our building has served its purpose, and we have sold our land.
We are moving to the University YMCA right next to the Main Quad and the Library! We offer paid opportunities for students to serve with our food ministries on Wednesdays and sing in our choir on Sundays. We are a church connected to the community with a deep desire to work with our partners in ministry to build God's inclusive and justice seeking community at the university, in our town(s), and throughout the world.
